Grilled Cheese Sandwich

The classic — buttery toast, melty cheese, golden crust.

Ingredients

  • 2 sourdough bread (slices)
  • 2 ounce sharp cheddar cheese (sliced or shredded)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (softened)

Instructions

    Spread the butter on one side of each slice of bread.

    Place one slice butter-side-down in a cold nonstick skillet. Top with the cheese, then the second slice of bread, butter-side-up.

    Turn the heat to medium-low. Cook 3-4 minutes until the bottom is deep golden brown.

    Flip with a wide spatula and cook another 2-3 minutes, pressing down gently with the spatula to help the cheese melt.

    Slice in half and eat hot.
